Captain Edward Jarvis is a USCG certified captain and OUPV instructor with a 100 ton Master License. Captain Ed is available for day boat hire. He is also the founder of “Beaufort Boating” and “The Academy of Boating”.
Welcome to our six-to-seven-mile pontoon boat tour starting and ending at the Grand Harbor Marina in New Bern, North Carolina. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenic beauty of the Neuse River as we guide you through some of the area's most captivating landmarks.
Stop 1: Neuse River Panorama- Our first stop offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Neuse River. Known for its tranquil waters and vibrant ecosystem, the Neuse River is one of the longest rivers in North Carolina. This location provides an excellent opportunity for photographs and to soak in the serenity of the river’s vast expanse.
Stop 2: Union Point Park- As we continue, we’ll glide past Union Point Park, a beloved spot in New Bern. This park is a local favorite for its lush green spaces and historic charm. The park marks the confluence of the Trent and Neuse Rivers, offering a picturesque backdrop for visitors and a peek into the area’s colonial history.
Stop 3: Historic Bridge- Next, we’ll approach the historic Alfred Cunningham Bridge. This iconic structure connects downtown New Bern with the surrounding areas and stands as a testament to the town’s rich maritime heritage. Our guide will share fascinating stories about the bridge’s construction and its role in the community.
Stop 4: Wildlife Observation Point -Keep your eyes peeled as we pause at our wildlife observation point. This area is home to a variety of bird species, including herons, egrets, and ospreys. If we’re lucky, we may even spot dolphins playing in the water. This stop highlights the rich biodiversity of the Neuse River and its surrounding wetlands.
Stop 5: Governor’s Palace View -Finally, we’ll cruise near the waterfront view of Tryon Palace, the former governor’s residence and a stunning example of 18th-century architecture. This site is a crown jewel of New Bern, offering visitors a glimpse into the colonial history and cultural significance of the region.

Our pontoon boat is for up to 8 passengers, including children over the age of 4. Under age 4 are free and not included in the head count.
